Born in Ipswich and raised in London, James Oakleys has travelled half the world to come to the tropical paradise island of Phuket, yet he seems more at home than ever. After years of experience in big cities like London and Hong Kong, his Thailand adventure was a new chapter of his culinary journey.

I am exited to be surrounded by such a beautiful environment feed creativity. Sourcing the best and freshest produce Phuket has to offer for our truly international guests, fuels the flames of passion evident in the motif on my forearm, which serves as a reminder of why I become a chef.

When asked towards the end of the brief but inspirational conversation about his cooking philosophy, his answer is simply “PASSION”.

The Shooting was at Vero Trattoria & Wine Bar, Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach, to portray his instyled personality and the fascinating tattoo pattern on his arm which defined his unique identity, just as he had a strong passion for cooking and his unique taste.
