Take Me to Phuket Old Town – Where to visit?

Phuket Old Town is well-known for it vibrantly painted townhouses, century-old sino-portuguese architecture, with a well-preserved buildings along the old town chartered bank community of Phuket City. In this quarter, you’ll find ornate and beautiful boutique shop-houses, shrines, temples, museums including great restaurants and cafés. The distinctive clock tower building of the old Standard Chartered Bank, located at the corner of Phuket and Phang Nga Road, presents stunning historic sino-portuguese architecture and today has opened as the museum for people to learn about the Peranakan culture.

At the main street “Thalang Road” is famous for Sunday Walking Street Market “Lard Yai” which offers lot of local favorites, street food, artisanal ice cream and souvenirs. There will be the so-called street art “Mardi” created by Alex Face, is a perfect instagrammable spot including strolls through the famous Soi Romanee. The Saeng Tham Shrine, located on Phang Nga Road, always attracts tourists to admire colorful statues of Chinese Hokkien gods. The Phuket Thai Hua Museum, located on Krabi Road, once was the first Chinese language school in Phuket island features exhibits on Chinese immigrant culture and arts.
